About Our Charity Partner: Sunsar Maya
Mission: Help vulnerable women and children in Nepal build pathways out of poverty through holistic, community-based programs that promote education, mental health, and physical wellbeing.
Founded: 2011 by four friends who met while volunteering in Nepal and were deeply moved by the kindness and resilience of the Nepali people.
Why This Matters
Nepal’s women and children experiencing generational poverty face significant daily challenges:
- Limited access to quality education and healthcare
- Lack of nutritious food and safe living conditions
- Gender discrimination and unsafe working environments
- Heightened vulnerability to child labor and early marriage
These barriers make it extremely difficult to break the cycle of poverty that passes from one generation to the next.
